Instamojo or Stashq: which is better for selling digital products?
Instamojo is a store and payments service for any Indian business. Stashq is a store for digital products only. If you ship physical goods or take payments by link, Instamojo covers more ground. If you sell files, the difference is in the rate, the delivery and who sells to the buyer.
On Instamojo you are the merchant and Instamojo processes the payment. On Stashq, Stashq buys each sale and resells it to the buyer as merchant of record, with its own GST invoice.

What a store built for files does
- Delivery is the product. The file unlocks the moment payment clears and stays re-downloadable from the buyer's library — no link to email, no attachment to resend.
- Big files. Up to 64 GB per product, with uploads that pick up where they stopped.
- Invoices you never write. Stashq sells to the buyer as merchant of record and sends them a GST invoice.
- Private sales. Unlisted products sell only to people with the link, with an optional cap on how many can be sold.
Questions
How much does Instamojo take on a digital product?
A transaction fee of 10% plus ₹3 per sale on the free Lite plan and the ₹6,999-a-year Starter plan, or 5% plus ₹3 on Growth (₹14,999 a year or ₹2,999 a month). Instamojo adds 18% GST to the fee. Physical products cost less: 5% plus ₹3, or 2% plus ₹3 on Growth.
When does Instamojo pay sellers?
Instamojo says it settles every transaction on a transaction-plus-3-days basis. Instant, same-day and next-day payouts are available for an extra fee, subject to KYC approval.
Who is the seller to the buyer on Instamojo?
You are. Instamojo describes itself as a technology company that takes a fee on each purchase a customer makes from you, and says it is not responsible for your products. On Stashq it is the other way round: Stashq sells to the buyer as merchant of record and sends them a GST invoice.
When does Stashq pay me?
Per sale, to your bank account, once the product's refund window closes — straight away for a product with no refund window. There is no minimum.
