How does this work for my personal Income Tax (ITR)?
Exactly as it did before. What changes is GST, not income tax. Stashq buys each sale from you, so the money it pays you is your own business income and you declare it in your ITR at your usual slab. Your statement itemises every sale and the arithmetic behind it, which is the record your return needs. Nothing is deducted from a payout for tax at source, so the figure on the statement is the figure to account for.
What if I already have a GST number?
You keep it, and nothing about it changes what Stashq does — we still invoice the buyer under our own GSTIN and you still issue no invoice to them. One thing does fall to you: the sale to Stashq is a supply you make, so if your registration requires you to account for tax on it, that comes out of the payout rather than on top of it. We do not ask for your GSTIN and we do not gross the payout up.
When and how do I actually get the money in my bank?
Straight to the bank account you verify once, per sale rather than on a monthly cycle. Each sale is held until that product’s refund window closes — you choose 3 days, 7 days or none — and if a buyer opens a request near the end, the hold stretches until it is decided, so a payout is never released with a claim open on it. After that, bank settlement usually takes about two working days, so allow for weekends.
What file types and sizes can I host?
Any type — the delivery file is your work, so we do not police its format. Up to 64 GB per file, uploaded in parts that pause and resume, with as many files on a product as it needs. The binding limit is your plan’s storage rather than the per-file cap: 10 GB on Free, 50 on Creator, 200 on Pro, and more can be added on.
What happens if a buyer asks for a refund or disputes a charge?
A buyer can open a refund request inside the window you set, and it reaches you as a conversation, not a decision already taken. You have 48 hours to reply; miss it and we refund in full on your behalf. Because the money is still held, a refund never claws back anything already in your account. A card dispute is different: we are the buyer’s counterparty, so the chargeback is ours to answer, not yours.
Can I take my files and leave whenever I want?
Yes. Nothing here is exclusive — you keep every right to your work and can sell the same file anywhere else at the same time. There is no lock-in, no notice period and no charge for leaving. Remove a product and its buyers get a stated grace period to download before the files are purged; close the account and we delete what we hold. The exception is the tax record of sales that already happened, which GST requires us to keep for 72 months.
