How do you sell study notes and PDFs online in India?
Put the notes in a store and let checkout do the rest. A student pays by UPI or card with just an email address, the PDF unlocks the moment the payment clears, and a lost file is something they fix themselves.
No screenshots to check, no Drive access requests, no re-sending. Here is what that replaces, and what each sale leaves you.
Facts checked on
The manual way and the store way
Selling by DM
- A buyer DMs asking for the notes.
- You send a UPI ID or QR code.
- They send a payment screenshot, and you check it against your bank app.
- You share a Google Drive link, then approve the access request from their other email.
- Weeks later: "Sir, I lost the file." You find the chat and send it again.
Every step happens again for every buyer.
Selling from a store
- You share one link to your store.
- The student pays by UPI or card, with an email address and no account.
- The PDF and a GST invoice arrive straight away.
- If they lose it, they sign back in with a code sent to their email.
You set it up once. The money arrives in your bank per sale.
What a ₹199 PDF leaves you
Per sale, after GST and payment processing, on each plan.
A ₹199 set of notes
- FreeNo monthly fee · Stashq margin 8%
- ₹149.86 – ₹154.65
- Creator₹499 a month · Stashq margin 3%
- ₹158.29 – ₹163.08
- Pro₹1,499 a month · No Stashq margin
- ₹163.35 – ₹168.14
After 18% GST, which Stashq pays, and payment processing. The higher figure is a UPI payment, the lower a card.
Built for exam week
- Several products, one checkout. A student buying physics, chemistry and maths notes pays once.
- Discounts with an end date. A coupon for your batch, or an automatic price cut on the whole store until the exam.
- Reviews only from buyers. A rating can only come from someone who bought, and the average shows once three people have reviewed.
- Refunds on your terms. Choose no refunds, or a 3-day or 7-day window, per product. A request you leave unanswered for 48 hours is refunded automatically, so a student is never stuck.
Do you need GST to sell notes?
Not below ₹20 lakh of turnover a year. On notes priced in the low hundreds that is a lot of students, and the GST guide works out how many on each plan.
Questions
Does a student need an account to buy?
No. They enter an email address, pay by UPI or card, and the download opens straight away. The same email gets the file link and a GST invoice.
What happens when a student loses the file?
They get it back themselves. The delivery email has a link back to their library, and on stashq.in/library they can sign in with a six-digit code sent to the email they bought with. They can download again any time while you keep the product on sale.
Do I have to offer refunds?
You choose per product: no refunds, or a 3-day or 7-day window. Even with no refunds, a buyer can still ask if the file didn't arrive or the payment went wrong.
Can I run an exam-season discount?
Yes. Create a coupon code or an automatic discount, as a percentage or a flat amount, on your whole store or chosen products, with start and end dates. Students can also buy several products in one checkout.
