How do you sell Notion templates in India?
Sell a copy, not your workspace. Publish a clean copy of the template with Notion’s duplicate option on, put its link inside a short PDF, and sell the PDF. Buyers pay by UPI or card and download it the moment they pay.
Nobody needs a GST number to start, and nobody needs to see your other pages. The five steps are below.

Five steps to sell a Notion template
Make a clean copy to sell
Duplicate your template into its own page, away from your working pages. Anything nested under a published page is published with it, so the copy should contain only what the buyer gets.
Publish it with duplication on
In Notion, open Share → Publish, publish the copy, and turn on Duplicate as template. That lets anyone with the link copy it into their own workspace.
Keep it out of search
Under Share → Publish, check that search engine indexing is off. The page should only be reachable by someone who has the link — your buyers.
Put the link inside a file
Write a one-page PDF: what the template does, how to duplicate it, and the link. That PDF is the file your buyer downloads, so the link only reaches people who paid.
Add a preview and screenshots
Upload up to five gallery images of the template in use, and an optional free preview file — a sample page or a short walkthrough — that anyone can download before buying.
Why a store, not a payment link
A template sells on what the buyer sees before paying. A bare payment link shows them a price.
- Screenshots and a free sample. Every product carries up to five images and an optional preview file anyone can download before buying.
- A store at your own address. Your templates sit together at yourname.stashq.in, in a design you set — six styles, with a warning if text becomes hard to read.
- No invoices to write. Stashq sells to the buyer as merchant of record and emails them a GST invoice with their file.
- Discounts when you launch. Coupon codes or automatic discounts, on one template or your whole store, with an end date.
What a template sale leaves you
Per sale, after GST and payment processing, on each plan.
A ₹499 template
- FreeNo monthly fee · Stashq margin 8%
- ₹375.80 – ₹387.80
- Creator₹499 a month · Stashq margin 3%
- ₹396.94 – ₹408.94
- Pro₹1,499 a month · No Stashq margin
- ₹409.63 – ₹421.63
After 18% GST, which Stashq pays, and payment processing. The higher figure is a UPI payment, the lower a card.
Do you need GST to sell templates?
Not below ₹20 lakh of turnover a year, and above it you register however you sell. The full answer, with the law behind it, is in the GST guide.
Questions
Can't a buyer just share the Notion link?
They can, the same as they could share a PDF. What you control is that the link is not findable: keep search indexing off, and deliver it only inside the paid file. If a link leaks badly, unpublish that copy and publish a new one for future buyers.
Can Stashq deliver the Notion link directly instead of a file?
No. Every Stashq product delivers one uploaded file, so the link goes inside a file — usually a short PDF with the link and instructions.
Can buyers pay by UPI?
Yes. Buyers pay in rupees by UPI or card at checkout, without making an account, and get the file as soon as the payment goes through.
How do I send buyers an updated version?
Update the published Notion copy and every buyer who duplicates it from then on gets the new version. Buyers who already duplicated it keep their copy, so tell them the link still works if they want to duplicate it again.
